I haven’t written in a while and here I am starting off with a short story. I’m a cruel being.

Part of the 100 themes challenge Jay and I are going to try and complete. We’re writing short stories for each theme: he in french and I in english. We’ll compare notes afterwards.

So here goes nothing.

Summer Heat

The bus passed in front of a house, the very same house it passed in front of every day of the week, every week, every month and every year, for five years now. But something was different, and she noticed it right away. A man was sitting on the grass under a tree, leaning against it, his left leg propped up, his let arm resting against it. He was sipping at what seemed to be a can of apple juice–yes, she recognised those cans, after seeing and drinking from them for so long.
